First of all, it's important to understand why some students choose to take both tests.

For immigration purposes, one test is enough. Essentially, either IELTS or PTE can confirm your language level. However, NAATI CCL has nothing to do with confirming language proficiency. It's a unique, specialized exam available only in Australia, and it adds +5 points to your score in the point-based system, thereby increasing your chances of obtaining a visa.
